Claude Busuttil

Claude Busuttil graduated at the University of Florence (Italy) in 1998 with a Masters Degree in Architecture specialising in History of Architecture and Restoration of Monuments. He has been practising as an architect since 1999 and is presently a Lecturer at the International Institute for Baroque Studies within the University of Malta. In 2018 he defended successfully his Ph.D thesis entitled “The Influence of French Military Engineers on Maltese Architecture during the Reign of Louis XIV” at the University of Rouen in France.

Daniel Cilia

Daniel Cilia born in Victoria, Gozo, Malta in 1963, has been pursuing photography since he was thirteen.

Self‑taught, he learnt the technical aspects of photography, and more importantly realized how light shapes and forms our visual perceptions of everyday life. Cilia has always insisted that photography is not about equipment but its all about the quality of light and how it modulates three-dimensional objects. Cilia’s first major exhibition was at the Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta, Malta in 1986. Later that year he was awarded the Licentiate of Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain.

Daniel Sammut

Daniel Sammut was born in 1972. He has always been fascinated by nature and how man fits within it, nonetheless because he is the son of Rio Sammut, a fisherman and author of several books on fish in the Mediterranean.

Daniel is a general practitioner who works privately as part of a group practice. He finds great satisfaction in his relationship with patients and in helping them achieve health. In addition, he is a trainer of other doctors. He has authored one book of fiction in Maltese, Skandlu? along with several scientific articles and the curriculum for Maltese GP training.

Daria Troitskaia

Born in Saint Petersburg, brought up in Vienna, and now living on the Mediterranean island of Malta, Daria’s love of travel is only matched by her fondness for capturing the invisible, in nature and in others. Storytelling and intriguing context are what make her pictures; her static images are living paragraphs of a story which has been only partly told. Formally trained at an art school and well-versed in graphic and web design, she has worked as an art director of several companies before starting her own business. She had several exhibitions in Europe and was featured in a number of magazines. Her works are in private collections all over the world.

Denis De Lucca

Professor Denis De Lucca was born in Malta in 1952 and graduated in architecture from the University of Malta in 1975. He afterwards practised his profession, lectured in architecture and carried out primary source research on various aspects of architectural history and theory. Since 1989, the author has occupied the positions of Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Design and Director of the very active International Institute for Baroque Studies at the University of Malta. He also chairs the Mdina Rehabilitation Committee in the Resources and Infrastructure Ministry.

The winner of the Faber 2000 prize for outstanding achievement in architectural research, Professor De Lucca has contributed numerous papers to academic publications among which one can mention: Studies in Maltese Architecture : Romano Carapecchia (1975); Baroque Town Planning in 18th century Mdina (1976); Baroque Mdina (1977); French Military Engineers in Malta during the 17th and 18th centuries (1981); The Contribution of Francois de Mondion to the Architectural Development of 18th century Malta (1982); The Architecture of Valletta (1983); Islamic Architectural Manifestations in Town of Malta (1995);Waterfronts of Valletta and Birgu : Projects by the Order of St. John (1998); andSome Unexplored Baroque – Vernacular Interactions in Maltese Village Environments (2000).

Doris Vella Camilleri

Doris Vella Camilleri (born November 1931) lived in New York in the late sixties and Toronto and London for most of her married life.  She now resides in Malta her country of origin.

Doris is a fully qualified teacher who has gained a vast experience in teaching a multicultural section of children in two different countries.  She is bi-lingual, hence most of her works are written in both English and Maltese.

Edmond Zarb

Born on the 2nd day of March 1945, Edmond Zarb is first and foremost a professional pianist. He plays at the Westin Dragonara Resort on a regular basis. He started his musical career at a very early age under the strict guidance of his father, who was also an acclaimed musician.

For over thirty years, Edmond Zarb was the resident pianist of Hilton International Malta under various General Managers. His vast exceptional repertoire covers both light and classical fields.

Edward (Eddie) Attard twieled f’Tas-Sliema fl-1947. Ħa l-edukazzjoni tiegħu fil-Liċeo, fil-Ħamrun. Fl-1966 daħal fil-Korp tal-Pulizija fejn, matul l-ewwel għaxar snin, ħadem f’xogħol amministrattiv. Mill-1977 kien inkarigat mill-pubblikazzjonijiet tal-Korp, fosthom ir-rivista Il-Pulizija, Il-Kodiċi Kriminali, u Ir-Regolamenti tat-Traffiku. In 2005 he graduated as an architect and civil engineer from the University of Malta where he went on to read for a postgraduate degree in ancient building conservation. Meanwhile he worked with aoM Partnership in the restoration team of the Manoel Island and Tigné regeneration project and now has his own practice as a building conservation consultant. In 2012 he read for a Master of Science degree in historic landscape conservation at the University of Bath. Edward Said is a keen researcher on Maltese architectural history, having written various papers on the subject.
