Alan Xuereb

Alan Xuereb minn meta kien tifel kien affaxxinat bil-kożmoloġija, il-filosfija u l-politika. Huwa għandu dottorat fil-Liġi u għandu M.Phil. fil-filosofija tad-Dritt. Bejn l-1996 u l-2008 huwa ħadem bħala avukat f’Malta fejn ipprattika prinċipalment fil-qasam tad-dritt tal-familja u fejn iddedika ruħu fost l-oħrajn sabiex jgħin lill-foqra moħbija. Prinċipalment bl-involviment tiegħu fil-Moviment Era Ġdida, kif ukoll bil-ħidma tiegħu fl-Ordni Dumnikan. Huwa kien ukoll uffiċjal legali fid-Direttorat tal-Unjoni Ewropea fiż-żmien meta Malta kienet qed tinnegozja l-adeżjoni tagħha mal-Unjoni Ewropea. Sussegwentement huwa aġixxa wkoll bħala konsulent dwar id-dritt tal-Unjoni Ewropea għal diversi kumpanniji, organizzazzjonijiet u aġenziji governattivi. F’dan il-perijodu wkoll huwa ġie appuntat bħala CEO ta’ kumpannija tat-traduzzjonijiet u tal-konsulenza dejjem fil-qasam tal-Unjoni Ewropea. Illum il-ġurnata jaħdem bħala ġurista-lingwista mal-Qorti tal-Ġustizzja tal-Unjoni Ewropea fil-Lussemburgu. Dr. Xuereb huwa miżżewweġ lil Silke (nee Maninger) u għandhom żewġt itfal, Tristan u Alea. Huma jgħixu ġewwa Tawern fil-Ġermanja. Dr. Xuereb huwa membru tar-Royal Institute of Philosophy ta’ Londra u huwa membru attiv tal-Philosophical Society ta’ Oxford. Huwa awtur ta’ diversi artikli f’ġurnali Maltin u f’diversi rivisti ta’ xeħta filosofika fir-Renju Unit. Huwa jikteb fuq temi filosofiċi differenti partikolarment dwar il-filosofija politika, l-moralità u d-dritt u l-metafiżika. Dan il-ktieb huwa l-qofol ta’ snin ta’ riflessjoni dwar il-ġid komuni.

Albert Ganado

Albert Ganado B.A., LL.D., M.O.M., Knight Grand Cross of Magistral Grace of the Sovereign Order of St John (Rome). The Malta University Library published a Liber Amicorum in his honour (1994). Helen Wallis Award conferred by the International Map Collectors Society for his great contribution to the history of cartography (2011). Doctor of Literature (Honoris Causa) conferred by the University of Malta (2013). Lectured in Malta and abroad. Published ten books and numerous articles on history, art, legislation, philately.
Albert Ganado, born in Valletta on March 9, 1924, graduated B.A. and LL.D at the University of Malta and has practised law since 1947. He has published in academic journals studies on various aspects of Maltese history, including art, legislation, politics and philately. Contributor to Encyclopaedia Britannica since 1954 on Maltese history and current events. Wrote articles on the cartography of Malta and the Mediterranean in Imago Mundi (London), Imago et Mensura Mundi (Rome), Lexikon zur Geschichte det Kartographie (Vienna), Florilegium Cartographicum (Leipzig), Mellieħa through the tides of time (Malta), A journey through the centuries-historical discoveries in Russo-Maltese relations (Malta); lectured on the same subjects in Malta, Pisa, Bertinoro and Brussels. Co-authored with Joseph C.Sammut Malta in British and French caricature 1798-1815, and with Maurice AgiusVadalà and two-volume work A Study in depth of 143 maps representing the Great Siege of Malta of 1565. Was consultant editor for Palace of the Grand Master in Valletta.
Albert W. Agius

Albert W. Agius, magħruf ukoll bl-isem ta’ Bertie, twieled Birżebbuġa fl-10 ta’ Settembru 1933, bin il-Kaptan Joseph Edward Agius u Rosa xebba Borg.
Huwa ngħata l-edukazzjoni sekondarja tiegħu b’xejn fis-Seminarju Minuri, il-Furjana. Bejn l-1975 u l-1977 għamel kors fil-ġurnaliżmu fl-Università ta’ Malta.
Alexia Xuereb Diacono

Alexia Xuereb Diacono twieldet ġo Birżebbuġa fit-8 ta’ April 1989. Sa minn età żgħira kellha namra kbira għall-kitba, u kienet tħarbex xi noti bl-ideat li kienu jiġuha. Ta’ adulta żżewwġet u marret toqgħod Marsaskala. Wara li ħelset l-istudji tagħha, bdiet taħdem ta’ għalliema fl-Iskola Primarja tal-Imqabba. Aktar tard ħadmet ukoll fl-iskola primarja ta’ Marsaskala. Apparti l-kitba għandha wkoll passjoni lejn il-lingwi. Fil-fatt hi taf titkellem bil-Malti, bl-Ingliż, bil-Franċiż, bit-Taljan u anke l-lingwa tas-sinjali. Il-passatempi tagħha huma l-għawm – fil-fatt fis-sajf tmur kważi kuljum il-baħar – il-qari u anke l-kitba. Minbarra dan tħobb issiefer u titgħallem fuq kulturi ġodda. Il-Kotba tagħha huma Maskri u Misteri; w Imrar u Mħabba.
Alfred Cachia

Alfred Cachia, bin Ġużeppi u Inez, imwielda Micallef, twieled f’Birkirkara fil-31 ta’ Diċembru 1934. Ħa l-edukazzjoni primarja fl-iskola tal-gvern u sekondarja fil-Kulleġġ San Alwiġi. Wara, studja għal rasu.
Għallem fl-iskejjel primarji tal-gvern. Inħatar uffiċjal tad-dwana, uffiċjal għoli fis-servizz pubbliku, konsulent mal-Awtorità għas-Servizzi Finanzjarji ta’ Malta u uffiċjal għoli f’intrapriża privata.
Alfred E. Baldacchino

Born in Rabat, Malta on 20th April 1946. Studied at the Lyceum, Ħamrun; Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology; St. Michael’s Teachers Training College of Education from where he graduated as a teacher in (1972); University of Malta: Diploma in Environmental Science (1988); Diploma in Public Administration (1993); Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management (1994); M.Sc. (Environment Management and Planning (1995).
From 1974 to 1986 was the General Secretary of the Malta Ornithological Society (now BirdLife Malta). Coordinated and adapted television programmes, presented and produced radio programmes, and presently regular contributor to the mass media and also to radio programmes.
Alison Joan Farrugia

Il-ġibda speċjali li għandha għall-kotba tat-tfal bdiet minn meta kellha l-ewwel tifel fl-2003. It-tfal tagħha kienu l-ewwel ispirazzjoni biex tikteb ktieb tat-tfal bil-Malti, wara li ħafna drabi kienet tħobb tirrakkontalhom stejjer spontanji. Kitbet L-Avventuri ta’ Tipi sabiex filwaqt li t-tfal jieħdu gost jaqraw stejjer avventurużi li joħolqulhom tbissima, ikunu esposti għal-lingwa Maltija kif ukoll isiru jafu kif għandhom iġibu ruħhom f’sitwazzjonijiet differenti fil-ħajja ta’ kuljum.
Andrè Zammit
Andrè Zammit was born in Gozo in 1930 and after studying at the Gozo Seminary and St Aloysius College matriculated in June 1945. At University he graduated in Science in 1949 and in Engineering and Architecture in 1952 winning the Travelling Scholarship. He studied in London becoming a Member of the Institution of Municipal Engineers (1954) of the Institution of Highway Engineers (1958) a U.K. Chartered Engineer (1968) and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (1984). In 1958 he won another scholarship at the Milan Politecnico where he was awarded a post-graduate diploma in Highway and Traffic Engineering. In 1971-72 he was Chairman of the Malta Joint Group of the Council of Engineering Institutions.
Between 1952 and 1965 he worked for the Public Works Department where he was responsible for the first flyovers and the network of bypasses and arterial roads. He represented Malta in various Conferences connected with Planning, Roads and Traffic. In private practice he held a wide spectrum of consultancies.
Andrew Borg
Andrew Borg was born in St Julians, but now leaves in Rabat. He studied at the University of Malta and eventually pursued a teaching career. He is presently an Assistant Head of School. He is the Director of Deer Publications, producing books for himself and for others. His publications include the first two volumes of the series Dun Anton: Kitbietu Miġbura, as well as various children’s books: Is-Sellum ta’ San Ġużepp, Il-Vleġeġ ta’ San Sebastjan, Karol it-Tifel li sar Papa, Santa fil-Baħar, Ir-Rigali ta’ Nikola, Il-Ward ta’ Santa Rita, L-Arzella ta’ Santu Wistin, Il-Ħmara ta’ San Ġużepp.. He is also responsbible of an ambitious project with Mark Micallef Perconte, a photographer, with whom he is producing the twelve book series ILWIEN IL-FESTI MALTIN which documents photographically all Maltese festas. So far 7 volumes have been published. His latest series is about St Joseph and the worldwide devotion to this saint: ID-DEVOT TA’ SAN ĠUŻEPP, of which two volumes have been published so far: Damma ta’ Talbiet (Prayers) and Ġabra ta’ Siltiet (quotations).
Anton B. Dougall

Anton B. Dougall (born March 8, 1952) is a Maltese chef, writer, television personality. He also appears regularly as a guest on various TV programmes and radio shows. Dougall is the founder of the catering business Astoria Catering.
Personal life
Anton B. Dougall was born in Cospicua, Malta. The fourth child of George and Julia Dougall. Dougall attended the MCAST college in Malta, Westminster College in the UK and graduated from the Catering College, Leeds Polytechnic in the UK. He is married to Mariella Azzopardi. The couple have four children: Rudi, Felicity, Pearl and Nigel.
