In commemoration of Guido de Marco’s dedication to the international dimension of maritime affairs, foundation de Malte felt it would be a fitting tribute to focus on a particular moment of de Marco’s life, in his involvement in the Independent World Commission on the Oceans (IWCO) as one of its prestigious Vice-Presidendts. The maritime context, both from a national and international perspective, remained for him an essential dimension to any geopolitical progress.
