Description
Malta is an intriguing phenomenon.
A city state in terms of its size and internal tensions, it plays an active role in Europe as a member of the European Union (EU), at present holding the preseidency of the European Parliament. Furthermore, with English as its joint official language, it has its own tongue, the only official Semitic language in the EU, and a rich and thriving literature.
Owing its vernacular to its Muslim past, it is today a Christian nation, very rightly proud of its conversion to Christianity by Saint Paul in 60 A.D.
This book aims to give the reader a closer look into the daily life of someone who has, by chance in Malta, his fair share of exploits in what was often a thrilling and challenging life, in a closely knit society, at times falling short of the rule of law in a Lilliputian ambiance.
