A poetry workbook for students of English Literature in secondary schools
This Workbook is one of two specifically designed to support students in their preparation for the poetry section of the new SEC English Literature syllabus. It goes beyond practice for the examination as it provides scaffolding for studying and enjoying poetry through a deep engagement with it. In line with the SEC syllabus specifications, the workbook helps students to develop their poetry analysis skills and supports their writing skills through guided tasks that provide them with the required language and writing frames to write about poetry.
Each Unit helps students study a set poem from the SEC English Literature syllabus and provides practice in tackling a second, unseen poem and comparing it to the set poem.
