Description
Anton Azzopardi was born in 1925 in Hamrun Malta. He received his education at the Malta Lyceum and the Royal University of Malta, and joined the Society of Jesus in 1945 at Naxxar. He got his Licentiate in Philosophy in 1950 from heythrop College, Oxon, England his Licentiate in theology in 1957 from the Faculte de Theologie at Enghien, Belgium, where he was ordained priest in 1956. After his Tertianship at Florence, Italy, he was sent to the University of Oxford for his studies in English Language and Literarture, obtained his B.A in 1961 and his M.A. in 1966. The society entrusted him with a number of responsible offices amongst which were his Retorship of St Aloysius’ College (twice), where he also taught theology. He published a number of books, amongst which are his “Literary Terms, Forms and Figures”, “A New Geography of Maltese Islands”, “Eugenio Borg, His Life and Works”, and several other booklets and articles in English, Maltese or Italian. Other works are ready for publication. Now, the first volume of the history of Jesuits School in Malta.
