Description

This limited edition folder marks the anniversary of the sinking of HMS Urge – a Royal Navy submarine of the Second World War that was stationed in Malta.

The location of the HMS Urge, its crew and passengers remained a mystery until 2019, when the wreck site was discovered off the coast of Valletta. In 2021, a Heritage Malta and University of Malta dive team conclusively identified the wreck as HMS Urge.

  • Limited edition and numbered fine art print and deluxe folder
  • Folder: Hand crafted with gold hot foil
  • Fine art print portraying intricate technical drawing superimposed on rendering of the British U-class submarine sunken off Malta on 27 April 1942. HMS Urge was commissioned on 12 December 1940. It is the only Royal Navy ship to have borne the name and formed part of the 10th Submarine Flotilla based in Malta. HMS Urge damaged or sank a number of Italian warships and merchant vessels during 1941 and 1942.
  • The print is accompanied by a deluxe and number folder. All victims are listed on the inner front flap.
