Sammy Meilaq
Sammy Meilaq twieled Bormla fid-9 ta’ April 1949. Attenda l-iskola primarja ta’ Bormla mnejn għadda għall-edukazzjoni sekondarja fil-Liċeo u ta’ 14-il sena temm b’suċċess il-Form Five. Meta kellu 16-il sena daħal fuq il-bank tax-xogħol fit-Tarzna ta’ Malta bħala apprendista fis-sengħa ta’ shipwright. Kien hawn fejn l-għaqda ta’ bejn il-ħaddiema ġabitu wiċċ imb wiċċ mat-trejdunjoniżmu u mill-ewwel issieħeb fil-General Workers Union. Meta t-tmexxija tat-Tarzna għaddiet għal għand il-ħaddiema, Sammy Meilaq ikkontesta u ġie elett regolarment fil-Kunsill tat-Tmexxija bejn l-1975 u l-1997. Għal tnax-il sena sħaħ, mill-1985 sal-1997, huwa kien iċ-Ċhairman tat-Tarzna fl-istess waqt li baqa’ fix-xogħol tiegħu ta’ shipwright u jinżel jaħdem fil-baċiri. Fil-ħajja politika tiegħu, Sammy kien attiv fi ħdan il-Partit Laburista. Huwa kien elett fl-Eżekuttiv Nazzjonali tal-Malta Labour Party mill-1985 sal-1997. Huwa serva wkoll fil-Bord tal-Viġilanza u Dixxiplina tal-Partit mill-1988 sal-1992.
Fis-sena 2006 huwa nħatar President tat-Taqsima Metall u Kostruzzjoni tal-GWU u baqa’ f’din il-kariga sal-2010 meta laħaq l-età tal-irtirar mix-xogħol mit-Tarzna. Illum huwa President Onorarju tal-istess taqsima.
Sergio Grech
Sergio Grech was born in 1975 at Zejtun. He is the author of a biography about the controversial Capuchin friar Felicjan Bilocca and penned the novel “Il-Lejl tal-Irgulija”. Last year he edited the successful book Mintoff Bejn Storja u Miti. Grech produced hundreds of cultural programmes on Radju Malta, Ir-Radju tal-Università and Campus FM. He was the first Executive Director of the National Book Council.

Judge (Emeritus) Silvio Meli obtained his doctorate in laws from the University of Malta. Earlier he read economics, sociology, philosophy and history of Mediterranean civilization, obtaining his B.A. (General) (Part I) with distinction. He furthered his studies at the Faculty of Theology, Malta, obtaining his Diploma in Theology. At the Ecclesiastical Trubunal of Malta, he read Canonical Marriage Jurispudence and Procedure. he specialized at post-graduate level in Jurispudence and Human Rights at a post-graduate course organized by the University of Luton in Strasbourg, France. He also obtained his post-graduate Diploma in European Community Competition Law and his post-graduate Diploma in European Community Law both from King’s College, University of London.
He started his professional career in private practice and subsequently served as Senior Counsel for the republic. He was appointed Magistrate, Senior Magistrate and finally Judge of the Superior Courts of Malta.
Simon Bajada

Simon Bajada is one of the most prominent and influential figures in the world of food and travel photography. A former chef, he has authored three cookbooks on Baltic and Nordic cuisine. In addition to Food & Wine, his photography and recipes have appeared in Delicious, Saveur, Travel + Leisure, and others.
Simon Bajada worked as a professional chef and food stylist for a decade before pursuing a career in photography full-time. He published his first cookbook, The New Nordic in 2015, followed by Nordic Light in 2016 and Baltic in 2019, which focused on the cuisines of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Bajada was awarded 1st prize at the Pink Lady Food Photography Awards in 2019. He is a regular contributor to various food and travel publications, including Afar, National Geographic, House & Garden, and Gourmet Traveler. His latest cookbook, Malta: Mediterranean Recipes From The Islands, which focuses on the food of his cultural heritage, was published in July 2023.
Simon Salafia

Simon Salafia received his education at the Rabat Primary Government School and at St. Aloysius’ College. He continued his studies at the University of Malta where he graduated in Electrical Engineering. Due to his interest in the Spanish Language, he studied this language and reached its highest level of proficiency, recognised internationally, that is, the Proficiency Level of the Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language (University of Salamanca). He taught Spanish in Spanish-Maltese Cultural Centre, Government Schools, ITS and as a part-time lecturer at the University of Malta.
His main interests and hobbies are travelling, trekking and Maltese History and Culture, with a special reference to the Medieval Period. He is also a licensed Guide and a professional interpreter (in Spanish, English and Maltese, with Italian as a passive language) with an experience of more than 200 conference-days. The most prestigious event as an interpreter was the 5+5 Summit held in Malta in 2012, always working in the Spanish Booth.
Stanley Farrugia Randon
Born on 15 September 1973 graduated as Medical Doctor in 1997 and then obtained a Diploma in Paediatrics. He is a specialist in Family Medicine but is a member of various cultural and historical associations including the Malta Historical Society, Agrarian Society, The Malta Map Society, The Akkademja tal-Malti, and has been an active committee member of Din l-Art Ħelwa for the past 25 years. He was involved with a number of restoration projects of Din l-Art Ħelwa throughout these years. He loves research and reading Maltese History, fishing, growing vegetables organically, swimming, snorkelling and diving and plays Subbuteo. Stanley Fiorini is Professor Emeritus and Senior Fellow of the University of Malta. His interest in Maltese History has led to several publications of sole- or joint-authorship including The ‘Mandati’ documents at the Archives of the Mdina Cathedral, Malta: 1473-1539 (1993), Mdina – The Cathedral City of Malta (1996), and Tristia ex Melitogaudo – Lament in Greek verse of a XIIth-century exile on Gozo (2010). He has, furthermore, initiated the series entitled Documentary Sources of Maltese History, to which he has contributed, solely or jointly, the first fourteen volumes.
