This publication tries to capture diverse facets from the sectors which Schirò touched within the culture sector in Malta and abroad.
Custos Divitiarum: Festschrift in Honour of Joseph Schirò, edited by Charles J. Farrugia, is a fitting tribute to Joseph’s legacy and includes over 30 papers in more than 600 pages.
Curator, conservator and restorer of manuscripts and old books, Joseph Schirò is known for his scrupulous attention to detail and skill in restoration, as well as for his culture and knowledge of Maltese history and historiography. His expertise in restoration is universally acknowledged and his opinion is sought by the Government and by the Court. His technical expertise is further supplemented by his knowledge of the most important languages for the purpose.
