This volume, consisting of twenty-four academic papers and a short story, is dedicated to Horatio Caesar Roger Vella, the ardent Maltese scholar, philologist, antiquarian, genealogist, archivist, translator, and evangelist. In an academic career spanning over forty years, Vella has been above all the indefatigable teacher of Ancient Greek and Latin striving endlessly to imbue students with his meticulous fascination for the two classical languages.
Carmel Serracino, the editor, is a lecturer of Classics at the Department of Classics and Archaeology, University of Malta.
