Ever since its inception, the Society has been lead by a president, in accordance with its statute.
During the seventy years of its existence the Malta Historical Society has had nine presidents; Rev. Mgr Prof. Arturo Bonnici, Rev. Mgr Prof. Vincent Borg, Prof. Godfrey Wettinger, Comm. Dr. Albert Ganado, Prof. Stanley Fiorini, Prof. Mario Buhagiar, Judge Dr. Giovanni Bonello, Prof. Dr. Roger Ellul-Micallef and Dr. Theresa Vella – who is the current president.
In commemoration of its 70th anniversary, the Society is publishing a collection of papers by the presidents of the Society.
