Description
The Grand Master’s Palace comprises a series of lavishly decorated ambiances and hosts an outstanding assortment of works, including one of the most extensive collections of early modern weaponry and armour in the world. Hosted in the purposely built first-floor hall, spanning the entire breadth of the palatial block, the Armoury held enough weaponry for thousands of soldiers and proved to be one of the highlights of the opulent Magisterial Palace ever since its setting up during the opening years of the 17th century. The impressive list of swords, pikes, bows, firearms, bayonets, armours, and artillery pieces, features several striking items, both in terms of craftsmanship and uniqueness, spanning from the 15th to the late 18th centuries.
